To improve results for infants, toddlers, children, and youth with disabilities, and their families, the DSE/EIS Strategic Plan will focus on Action Imperatives in four critical areas

Breakthrough Center: Focus Schools Network

By leveraging existing and future resources across divisions of the Maryland State Department Of Education (MSDE), collaborating to increase internal knowledge, building content expertise, and identifying effective strategies we will be a more desirable and effective partner. As an integral part of the Breakthrough Center (BTC) the Focus Schools Network personnel will exhibit a cohesive and comprehensive understanding by eliminating achievements gaps across Maryland districts and schools.

Annual Survey

A parent or guardian of a child ages 3 to 21 receiving special education and related services, we want to hear from you. The annual Maryland Special Education Parent Involvement Survey is available online by clicking the appropriate link below based on your child’s current educational program.

OT/PT Early Intervention Services

The Occupational Therapists and the Physical Therapists provide a wide range of early intervention services to and on behalf of children and families. Services are designed to support family outcomes in areas of family routines and community activities, which contribute to the child’s learning and development.
