Part B Indicator 8 of the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) requires states to report the percentage of parents with a child receiving special education services who report that schools facilitated parent involvement as a means of improving services and results for children with disabilities. This Indicator is also used to address involvement of parents with children in preschool as specified in Section 619 of Part B of IDEA.

The Maryland State Department of Education Division of Early Intervention and Special Education Services obtained this information through two surveys administered by ICF International, and the results report is now available.
