April is Autism Awareness Month, a time when people around the world celebrate those with autism, raise awareness of its signs and symptoms, and work to increase acceptance of those with autism. Here are a few ways you can celebrate people with autism during this month and every month.

Get involved in your local Autism Society affiliate organization.

Autism Society affiliate organizations provide information, advocacy, and support for families and individuals with autism. Learn about the events and resources offered by your local affiliate organizations in Baltimore, Montgomery CountyHoward County, and Frederick County.

Take an online course.

Free courses are available through the Autism Society, including “Autism 101” and information about how to provide “pathways to success” for people with autism.

Read inspiring stories, learn about early intervention services, and prepare for life after high school on Maryland Learning Links.
